Privacy statement
How Energylight Bazaar collects, uses and protects your information. Governed by the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
What we collect
- Your name and email address (to create and sign you in to your account).
- Listings you post — titles, descriptions, prices and photos.
- Messages you send to other members through the app.
- Basic technical logs (e.g. request times) needed to run the service securely.
Why we collect it
Solely to operate this internal staff marketplace: to let you list items, browse what others are selling, and message each other to arrange a sale. We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.
Who can see it
Your name and your listings are visible to other approved members who are signed in. Your messages are visible only to you and the member you are messaging. Access to the app requires an account approved by an administrator.
Where it is stored (overseas disclosure)
The app is hosted on Railway and email is sent via Resend. These providers operate servers outside New Zealand (primarily the United States), so your information is stored and processed overseas. We rely on these providers' contractual data-protection commitments to keep your information safeguarded to a standard comparable to the NZ Privacy Act (Information Privacy Principle 12). Passwords are stored only as a secure one-way hash, and all traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
Your rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your information at any time from your Account page. Deleting your account permanently removes your listings, photos and messages.
Retention
We keep your information only while your account is active. When you delete your account, your personal information is removed.
